When I recently returned from a week in Las Vegas, a group of friends surprised me at the airport and began partying there in the arrival area (at the first smoker station, of course) with champagne, then we went to my place for a "jet lag party."
What's a jet lag party? I've found that the best weapon against jet lag is going to bed (and to sleep, of course) at the "normal" time in the evening and not falling asleep exhausted on the couch in the middle of the day. And since I arrived at 9:30 a.m. this would have been difficult without the help of some of my friends.
So we went to my place.
